As a get acquainted thing, just thought I'd ask about the highlights and lowlights of home jobs.
Definitely the best home job I ever had was writing an online advice column. I made several thousand dollars in the few months I did it, but the company wasn't well managed and didn't survive the dot.com crash. I also enjoy writing brochures for various businesses, but those jobs are hard to come by.
My worst home job was working (briefly!) as a phone psychic. I'm still trying to live that one down.
A phone psychic! Wow, that must have been an interesting job! I pick up projects from one company where I get paid to write advice tips, and it's currently the best paying job I have.
How on earth can you be a phone psychic? I'm sure you have to ask leading questions and listen well. I wouldn't think that would be very lucrative job, especially with what happened to "Cleo."
Wow, I worked as a phone and on-line psychic for 10yrs. I could not go back to it. I still do astrology charts and a private palm reading business. Mostly I gathered tons of stuff to write about thru those psychic lines. It is the most stressfull job I ever had. How did you get into it? I am always curious?

I got into being a phone psychic by answering an online ad. It wasn't difficult work, but it did prick my conscience that people were paying such outlandish prices for common sense.
Here's a quick scenario.
Me: I sense unhappiness in your life.
(Why else would they have called?)
Caller: Yes, yes!
Me: There's a man with dark hair, maybe older...
(Describes about half the male population)
Caller: Oh my God, that's my brother. He's been in the hospital.
Me: Yes, he's very sick. He needs you a lot right now, and you're feeling overwhelmed.
(Duh!)
Caller: Yes, he doesn't understand I have other responsibilities. I mean, my kids come first.
Me: Which one of your kids has been in trouble? Maybe at school or with the police?
(Stressed families tend to have kids who act out...)
And so it went. I knew that callers were paying up to five dollars a minute for that kind of BS, and most of them had financial troubles. So, even though the pay was good, after about a week, I felt too guilty to keep doing it. That's the story of my brief psychic career!
I have tried doing this too many years ago and I felt the same way you did. Most of them just needed a friend to talk to and I could not bear taking their money when they were already having a hard time as it was. It can be great money, but the cost of messing with peoples lives is not really worth it to me.
