There is a company advertising on Craigs list for a Marketing Assistant. They will say thay want you to mail out ad material for them and that they will send you the money for the postage and your first weeks pay upfront. After they have mailed the check, you then get an email saying that there was a mix up and that they sent you the wrong amount, they sent you over $3,000.00 and your pay was only $400, so they ask that you cash the check, keep $400 and send the rest back to them by Western Union.
This is just new way of doing an old trick. The checks are no good and if you cash them at your bank, it will bounce and get you in trouble with your bank.
If you get checks like this from a company, call your local law enforcement, they can help to bring these scams down.
