The one biggest con of working from home--and the one reason why I can't completely quit my day job--is health insurance. I have quite a few pre-existing conditions, including diabetes and bipolar disorder, so here in the states I can't find any company willing to sell me health insurance. Or, if they are willing, the monthly premium is several times the rent on Graceland. Grrr...
I know what you mean. I still keep my foot in the door at the place I worked, and still do partime. Its the health insurance.Honestly, I do not know how people survive in this health conscience world.
I am lucky that one of the perks of my husband's job (he is a firefighter) is FREE health insurance. Plus, it is decent coverage!
I truly don't know how anyone else would ever be able to do it without going through a company with major medical. It is SO expensive! This is definitely a downside to working from home.
The health insurance thing is a biggee. I have none as of now. My husband just has his, and no me on it. That seems to be the way the employer is handling their health insurance now. They will insure the employee, but no family. It is a terrible thing for this country. Look at all the un-insured childern this country has?

Way too many Americans are uninsured or underinsured. I read the other day that the top reason why most Americans claim bankruptcy isn't credit card debt--it's medical bills! Instead of tightening up on bankruptcy laws, the Congress needs to do something to ensure access to decent healthcare for everyone.
