Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Lab Applications Analyst to join our team in Palo Alto, CA.

NOTE: We will also consider applicants willing to work remotely from a virtual home office anywhere in the U.S.

Job Responsibilities:
# Provide application support and development to a world-renowned medical center.
# Execute projects and enhancements within the LIS (Laboratory Information System) environments to support the needs of the department.
# Provide second level support, including on-call rotations, in response to user problems and questions regarding system functionality, operations, input/output, reporting, and general operational procedures.
# Work with users to identify requirements for maintaining application tables, dictionaries, and parameters as required for system operation and configuration and provide impact analysis to users for proposed changes.
# Ensure optimization, availability and functionality of the LIS systems.
# Develop custom reports (e.g. Crystal) and data extracts as required by users
# Work collaboratively with IT peers in order to support the overall quality, responsiveness, and service level agreements (SLA) of the IT department and Perot Systems.

Required Skills:
# 3+ years of experience in an application support role for a large IT enterprise
# Strong analytical and problem solving skills
# Strong communication skills
# Excellent customer service skills

Desired Skills:
# Experience in one or more of the following: Healthcare, Clinical Laboratory, Microbiology, Outreach Laboratory, Transfusion Service, or Surgical Pathology
# Experience supporting one or more of the following applications: Misys Laboratory (Sunquest FlexiLab), WyndGate Safetrace TX, Impac PowerPath (Tamtron), Sage AccPac CRM
# Experience utilizing Crystal Reports Developer
# Experience supporting or developing MS SQL, InterSystems Cache (MUMPS) and/or Oracle
# Experience supporting and working in a Unix and/or Linux OS environment
# Experience supporting application integration (e.g. HL7, XML, etc.)
# Experience working on Project Teams
# Familiarity with IT project management methodologies and ITIL.

Minimum Educational Requirements:
# Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Computer Science, or Healthcare related major
# Experience may be substituted for education.
