I think one of the biggest problems that I face right now is, I am the only one I know that is doing this. So if I am stumped, I have absolutely no one I can turn to that might have a solution. So, learning my way around the net is taking a bit longer. Confused

Hi Silhouette! It is hard to be the only one working from home. I'm so glad you've found this group. Hopefully, you'll make friends here with other people in your position, and together we'll make our work from home businesses successful.

May I ask what kind of work you do? I'm a freelance writer.

Hello to you both. I too work from home. Mostly feelance writing. Some horse training, and dog sitting. Most people think I work full time away from home, I am so busy during the day. My family however, thinks I need a <real job>.I get by just fine , so need not their comments. I am the only one I have to please? Right? What do you guys think?

My family all in all is supportive. But sometimes when I am in the middle of something or someone they seem to think that I can just jump right up and do what they need done. I am talking mainly when my husband is home.

I think we would have a lot of happier people on this planet, if more people pursued jobs that they felt passionate about. I find that I am working longer hours but I am completely enjoying what I am doing. I feel a freedom I never knew in the 9-5 arena...but that's just my take on 'working from home'...SS Smile

Good take, I think more folks should consider working from home. I am buiser than ever, and I am getting more business all the time. Good for us.

Building a home business has been a long, slow process for me, especially since I still have to work during the days. It seems like every time I find a really promising client, they go under or turn out not to be what they say they are. Still, I guess the best thing to do is keep plugging away. I know there's a writer in my struggling to get out, and I'm going to release her if it's the last thing I do!

I can understand the feeling of being the only one working from home. Thats why I created this forum, so everyone could have a place to meet other WAHM's and get advice, or just have someone to talk to.

I know my family thinks because I work at home, that I can come and go as I please, so I always get the calls to run errands for family members or they pop over during the day and stay for a long time, while I am trying to work, so of course I don't get anything done.

Working from home is a real job, like  any other job, you are expected to be available and get your work done in a timely manner. We just have to let our family and friends know this, so that they will give us the respect we need.
